I have lived on Moulsham Lodge for around 25  years, nearly all my married life. In that time my wife and I have brought up 2 daughters who have both attended the local Moulsham Schools through Infant to Senior - In their early years they both attended Toddler Groups at the Community Centre, and still have friends to this day from their time there and my eldest is now over 20!

I was previously on the PTA of the Infant School, during which after one really successful event we provided the Gazebo that now sits just off the playground.

I have worked in Chelmsford all my working life, most of it for “Marconi” or under one of it’s many changes of name, now SELEX or BAE I am currently in a Sales & Marketing role.

The Community Centre has an important part to play for of all our residents, providing facilities that both support and enhance our daily lives.

I am also one of the the local City Councillors for Moulsham Lodge

I lived on Moulsham Lodge between 2014 and 2021 with my husband and 2 children. Having received the MLCT Newsletter through our door on the day we moved in back in Sept 2014, I saw an advert requesting volunteers. I jumped straight in!

Since joining the team at MLCT, I've taken many minutes, attended many meetings, helped set up a toddler group (Station Tots), helped set up the Tuesday Coffee Morning, helped at events, cleaned and worked my way to running the admin office duties. MLCT became my second home!

Volunteering has become my biggest achievement. Helping others is so rewarding and I highly recommend giving it a go!

My proudest moments have been hearing that by providing a place to meet every Tuesday, it gave our attendees a lifeline and (see pic above!) having won the nomination for Community Champion for the Chelmsford Light Switch on in November 2019.

Sadly, I've now moved counties in order to get on the property ladder, but I still continue to help out behind the scenes whilst remaining as a trustee and volunteer.

My name's Lauren and I am a mum of two lovely boys.

I work as an LSA in a school and my husband is an electrician.

I have been involved with MLCT since day one and have watched it grow and evolve ever since. I am a trustee and specifically work towards helping young people in the community. It's a role I enjoy which lead me to create the idea of 'Breakfast with Santa' that's affordable for families in the community and keeps growing and becoming better every year.

I enjoy helping to plan our summer fun days and many other events. I look forward to many more years as a trustee with MLCT
